After the Holydaze-

I took some time off from sewing, crocheting, and crafting during the Holidays to let my wrist rest a bit. It was sure nice, but I did not like seeing my projects sitting around! I have eased back in, starting slowly on a few things. I am impatiently waiting on a package from the fabric store. I hate waiting. Especially when cute cute fabrics are on their way!

I like to have a few slower projects to work on. This reminds me of Eddy on Absolutely Fabulous "Eddy pie-hands"!
One project is for the evening times, when I let my husband have the control of the remote.
When I first saw this vibrant bird & floral print, "talavera" by The Alexander Henry Fabric Collection, well I knew that I had to make something out of it!

I still haven't decided if I'm going to make myself a tote bag, or a couple of pillows for the couch, or even just a large floor pillow. Decisions decisions. Luckily, with tackling embroidering it, I have lots of time to decide just what this piece of material will become. I love the freedom I am giving myself in the embroidery. Just free-flowing and whatever size I stitch it!

Another project that I am working on is creating my own crochet pattern for a market/veggie bag. I like that I can tuck the project into my shoulder bag, for those photo walks I follow my husband on. Or when I'm waiting. You get the idea.

Now for some sewing!

I have dug out some pink corduroy and I have been playing around with a jumper pattern.

It's snowing!

Or it was a few weeks ago!
That's when I got the idea to crochet a bunch of snowflakes,
to use them as gift toppers and in our Christmas cards.
24 + to go!
Now if only they made peppermint starch!

Blankey Done!

Another gift tackled! This one was a lot of fun!
Although next time I will use my own technique when joining each new color row. Learn with each pattern you try I guess!
I let my husband pick out the colors for this baby blanket.
I'm not sure, but I think he had Yo Gabba Gabba on his mind?!

Belt Revisited

Today's project was to create a little bag to go along with a belt I made earlier.
I love working with the bright pink, purple, & aqua.....sure makes for a happy day!

What to do with some butterflies I crocheted? Embellish a pair of denim shorts for our niece Miss Abby!

Crocheted Flower Top

After loving how the embroidered pillowcase dress came out,
I decided to crochet some flowers & make another one into a top for an older niece.
It turned out so cute for Spring!

Flower Belt

After seeing how crocheted items are becoming popular once again, I decided to make a flower belt for a niece.
I love how the bright yarn colors & flowers give it a 1970's look!
I might have to make a few more in adult sizes, adding some bright
oranges, greens, & blues!

Pillowcase Dress

I stumbled upon a photo of a pillowcase dress & knew I had to create a few for my nieces!
I decided to embroider one & added crocheted lace to the bottom edging.
I love how adorable it turned out!

I have tackled another as a top, with just a basic flower crocheted lace along the bottom.

I have one more underway, with crocheted flowers & lace.
Just to tackle all the hand-stitching to join the flowers/stems to the top!
